History and development

The development of the University College began in 2008 when a permit for Undergraduate Professional Studies in Entrepreneurship was obtained. The University College focuses on education in the field of economics, entrepreneurship and management.

2017.

  •  7th Conference on Education for Entrepreneurship ICEL 7
  •  selected in a pilot project for the reaccreaditation of higher education institutions
  •  Erasmus project: Higher education student and staff mobility
  • 4 student companies were founded opened two regional offices and test centers (Vinkovci and Split)

2016.

  •  launched a Specialist Graduate Professional Study in Project Management
  •  approved for the Specialist Graduate Professional Study Program in Project Management via Distance Learning System (Online Study)
  •  established BIZ – Entrepreneurial Incubator, and entered the Register of Entrepreneurial Infrastructure
  •  4 student companies were founded
  •  6th Conference on Education for Entrepreneurship ICEL 6
  •  received “Stvaratelji za stoljeća” award
  •  Erasmus project: Higher education student and staff mobility
  •  Integrated ISO 22301 2012 BCM
  •  Integrated EBUS (European Business School, Global Logistics Study) within the Educational Group Zrinski

2015.

  • Graduate Degree Supplement for Entrepreneurship Economics and Specialization Graduate Degree in Management of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises through Distance Learning System (Online Study)
  •  5 student companies were founded
  •  5th Conference on Education for Entrepreneurship ICEL 5
  •  The Informative-Consultative Center (Novska) and the Student Entrepreneurial Incubator Unit (Novska) were established
  •  Erasmus + project: Higher education student and staff mobility was approved
  •  Erasmus + ”Doing business together” project was approved
  •  ESF project “Adoption of the Croatian Qualification Framework Principle in Professional Study Programs of Entrepreneurship” was approved

2014.

  •  4th Conference on Education for Entrepreneurship ICEL 4
  •  obtained the Erasmus Charter
  •  Erasmus project: Higher education student and staff mobility
  •  8 student companies were founded
  •  implementation of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports project: From Excellence to Entrepreneurship – Entrepreneurship as an Interdisciplinary Theme
  •  participant of the International Week of Education in the organization of the Educational Group Zrinski

2013.

  • successfully completed the process of re-accreditation of the University College
  •  University College accredited for the performance of the Specialist Graduate Professional Study of Management of Small and Medium Enterprises

2012.

  •  4th student company Panograf Ltd. was founded
  •  a procedure of extraordinary re-accreditation was initiated
  •  agreement on Educational, Scientific, Professional and Technical Cooperation was signed with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Slavonski Brod
  •  in November 2012, a two-year CIP (EU Competitiveness and Innovation Program) EntrepreneurSHEp Croatia (Women Entrepreneurship in Croatia) was completed within the European Network of Women’s Entrepreneurship Ambassadors in which the University College was partner with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (coordinator)
  •  since 2012 University College Nikola Subic Zrinski has been a partner on a three-year Summer Academy on Virtual Entrepreneurship project under the Lifelong Learning Programs (Lifelong Learning Programs, Erasmus Intensive Programs). The project coordinator and project supervisor is Helena Chodkowska, University of Management and Law in Warsaw (Wyzsza Szkola Zarzadzania and Prawa im. Heleny Chodkowskiej), other partner schools are: Universita degli Studi di Enna Kore (Italy), Instituto Superior da Maia (Portugal) , Altalanos Vallalkozasi Foiskola (Hungary) and Wyzsza Szkola Cla and Logistyki (Poland)
  •  in December 2012, the Network of Student Entrepreneurs Incubators was launched through a public-private partnership with the Croatian Agency for Small Business, focused on the development of entrepreneurship in higher education institutions in Croatia, which aids the establishment and support of real student companies (including 40 higher education institutions)
  •  implementation of the project for strengthening vocational education in northeastern Montenegro(project MNE/011) implemented by the Montenegrin Ministry of Education and Sports in cooperation with the Government of Montenegro and the Government of Luxembourg, whereby the experts of the University Colleges held workshops for entrepreneurship education for teachers , principals of Vocational Schools and mentors (September – December 2012)
  •  implementaton of Balkan Women Network for Professional Qualification and Training in the field of Business and Economic science (January 2012 – December 2014) within the LLP Gruntvig program, where the University College is partnered with other organizations from Greece, Turkey, Romania, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania and Bulgaria
  •  submitted a request for the accreditation of the Study Program of a Specialist Graduate Professional Study of Management of Small and Medium Enterprises

2011.

  • application for a five-study program license: Professional Studies in “Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Management”, ”Business Management in Foreign Trade”, ”Corporate Security”, Specialized Master’s Degree in ”Business Management” and “Corporate Security Management”
  •  3rd student company Ruki Zrin Ltd. was founded
  •  change of the legal representative/dean; dismissal of Boris Pirjevac, PhD (October 15, 2008 – May 8, 2011) and appointment of the Dean Zdravko Tkalec (since May 9, 2011)
  •  the Zrinski Innovation Development Center was established in 2011 as part of the Zrinski University College for Economics, Entrepreneurship and Management and its research and developmental basis. It focuses on planning, designing, conducting, monitoring and evaluating projects, as a support to all Zrinski Educational Groups. One of its tasks is to support the implementation of business simulations in educational institutions and businesses and training and consulting for project management
  •  in 2011 the University College organizes the International Conference on Education for Entrepreneurship(ICEL http://www.icelconf.eu/). The first conference was held in Zagreb at the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts and the second in Novi Sad (Serbia) in cooperation with the Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management from Novi Sad. The third conference will be held again in Zagreb. As part of the conference, a student competition was held in ”Piece of Cake” business simulations
  •  since 2011, University College has been implementing business simulations, innovative Finnish software, for the development of entrepreneurial competencies of students, where students are running their virtual businesses. Our institution is an exclusive distributor for Cesim simulations in the Republic of Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo (under UNSCR 1244/99) and Albania. In addition to implementing business simulations in the education sector in the region, we also organize human resource training for the corporate sector

2010.

  •  a permanent work permit was issued
  •  issued Erasmus University Charter – for student mobility, teaching and non-teaching staff, valid until the academic year 2013/2014
  •  2nd student company Čarobni put Ltd. was founded
  •  the University College became one of the founders and members of the Educational Group Zrinski
  •  Sports Association of University College Nikola Subic Zrinski students was registered
  •  ”Z-student” teaching process support was implemented
  •  regular forums “Zrinski – on Thursdays” were initiated
  •  the project “Supporting Entrepreneurship by Engaging Ambassadors to Inspire Croatian Women to Become Entrepreneurs” was approved in associaton with the partners: Varaždin Technology Park and Technical Development Center in Osijek, Ltd., project manager: the Croatian Chamber of Economy
  •  The University College is implementing the Erasmus program since the academic year 2010/2011, where students are offered professional practice and study abroad, and teachers are provided with teaching or professional training
  •  in 2010 the experts of the University Colleges participated in the drafting of the national Learning Strategy for Entrepreneurship 2010-2014, which was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

2009.

  •  Erasmus University Charter until the academic year 2010/2011 was issued
  •  met the requirements of international standard ISO 9001: 2008
  •  participated in the drafting of the Learning Strategy for Entrepreneurship “Entrepreneurial Croatia”
  •  conducted a project of the Ministry of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship titled “Children’s Entrepreneurship Week” – sensibilization of education for entrepreneurship in kindergartens and elementary schools
  •  signed the agreement on educational, scientific, professional and technical cooperation with the Faculty of Technology from Novi Sad, the Republic of Serbia
  •  Student Choir was established
  •  Academic Table Tennis Club was founded.

2008.

  •  permission for the “Economy of Entrepreneurship” professional study was issued
  •  student entrepreneurial incubator was founded
  •  1st student company Čarobni korak Ltd. was founded
